For just £25 you get a season of stimulating evening talks by big names in gardening, and visits to iconic gardens in the summer months. Why not come and join us?

All meetings, unless otherwise noted, are on the third Thursday of the month at 7.30 pm in Oxenhope Community Centre.

Admission, unless otherwise noted, is £5 for non members, members free. Membership is £25 per year.

COVID precautions will be strictly adhered to.

16th February Amy Smethurst Amy is from RHS Harlow Carr and is the Alpine House Team Leader
16th March Andrew Cunningham Andrew who is a member of the National Dahlia Society and also chairman of the National Vegetable Society in West Yorkshire will talk about growing and showing Dahlias.
He is is a frequent exhibitor and winner at Dahlia shows across the county.
He is involved with the National Dahlia Society trials at Golden Acre Park, Leeds.
20th April Razvan Chisu Razvan will talk about his obsession with plants and those he wouldn’t be without, including his favourites and must-haves.

He is a professional horticulturist with a BSc and MSc in Horticulture. He has worked in garden design and maintenance, leading tours and lecturing to gardening groups and conferences. For 6 years he was the editor of the Saxifrage Magazine (Saxifrage Society) and he writes for various other gardening magazines as well as his blog, which you can view here and his Instagram page of photographs.

During May Open Garden Garden open at Birks Clough Hollingworth Lane Todmroden OL14 6QX.The garden will be open by appointment in aid of the Scouts who are taking part in the Duke of Edinburghs Award and Kings Scout Award in addition to the Explorers Award. The Rhododendrons in the garden are coming to their best. Please contact either David or Marlene Storah on 01706 814438 or 07946 469991 to arrange to visit. Parking is limited so small groups or car share please. Drinks and cakes available.
18th May Jack Wallington Jack will talk about Wild Way: The Art of Gardening for Nature

He is a garden designer and author based near Hebden Bridge.

8th June

Plant Sale The plant sale will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 7.30 pm. There will be a wonderful collection of plants for sale and a delicious selection of cakes to be enjoyed with a cup of tea or coffee, not forgetting the opportunity of winning something good in the raffle. Members donating plants should aim to arrive around 7pm.(or earlier!)

Final details for the July and August visits will be available at the meeting tonight.
A limited number of tickets for An Evening with Chris Beardshaw, Chelsea Gold Medal winner 2023, will be on sale for non- members at the Plant Sale. Members Free.
26th July (Wednesday) Garden Visit The Grange in Skipton. Donations to Manorlands to be paid on entry.
Please sign up for this trip at the meeting in May.
17th August (Thursday) Garden Visit Parcevall Hall Gardens. Entry will be £8 (£7 over 65’s) plus £2 for the guide.
Please sign up for this trip either at the meeting in May or at the plant sale in June.
21st September Chris Beardshaw Our keynote speaker for 2023
Chris will speak about 'Painting With Plants' and we hope that he will bring some books for purchase.
Chris won the People's Choice Award at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023 with his 'Myeloma UK - A Life Worth Living Garden'
We are looking forward to a splendid evening and hope to post the talk on Facebook for members only.
This meeting is certain to be very popular. While it is free for members, please let us know if you cannot attend so that we can make more guest tickets available. A few tickets are still available to buy on the door.

The doors will be open at 7.00 pm when members and visitors will be checked in. Refreshments will be available.
19th October Lisa Hudson Lisa is a horticulturalist at RHS Bridgewater in Salford.
She has been in charge of the propagation and glasshouses at Bridgewater, and over the past five years has been supplying plants to the garden.
She will be talking about the growth of Bridgwater and how the site has changed and her role in charge of the glasshouses and propagation.
16th November Will Tomson Will is a garden designer and project manager at Creative Cultivation who design and build gardens with the environment in mind, encouraging wildlife to inhabit the built spaces.
He will be speaking about Japanese Gardens
